Spectrum
is a sound installation that mixes a range of sounds from several local radio stations, generated sine tones, and white noise.
The sounds are emitted by 23 speakers placed around a bicycle wheel and hooked up to several FM receivers. Each tuned to a certain
frequency, they pick up and play specific sounds of the area coming from local radio stations. FM Transmitters are used to insert
generated sine tones coming from a Max/MSP patch. Several activations of the installation were performed to rotate the wheel
similarly to a musical instrument.
